hey my gran has a half bengal mother and she is pregnant. the father is a pure bred bengal. am gettin one of the kittens. but do you think it will act like a bengal, like lots of energy etc, and look like 1. i can post a pic of my grans half bred bengal. its white all over and she has black spots down her back. thanks.

The pics of that cat don't even look like a half bengal. Have you any proof of what the cats background is, coz it looks like a mixed breed tabby, or moggie to me.

The cat you posted could be part Bengal but probably not in all honesty. Did you see the dad of the expected kittens at all??

I would be sceptical that this cat is half bengal and also that the dad is a full bengal really. No responsible person would still be mating their 5 year old girl nor selling her on whilst heavily pregnant. So i have my doubts about what they have told you.

I hope this girl will be ok as moving to a new home is very stressful for any adult cat let alone a pregnant one. It can take normal cats weeks to settle and she doesn't have that time.

There is no way of knowing what the kittens will be like to be honest. If all that has been said is true they still may not look anything like a bengal nor will the necessarily have the same personality. It is likely that the personality will be watered down from that of a bengal.

I too hope everything works out well for that girls sake as she didn't deserve to be sold on, maybe she was better off out of the old environment. They will be very cute kittens whatever they look like so you will have lots of fun but you may be disappointed if you want a kitten that looks like a full bengal i'm afraid.

I'm afraid your breeder sounds really dubious. You were sold a five year old breeding queen (red flag because of her age) who has no papers (red flag) who is cross bred (massive red flag) who was pregnant at the time of sale (SUPER RED FLAG).

The breeder is not breeding cats responsibly. Also, it is not uncommon for people to claim spotted or marbled moggies are bengals or bengal crosses and try to get some ££$$ for them. This is why it is so important to do your research before buying a cat. I would take everything this breeder has said with a grain of salt.

When you visited the breeder, did you see any other cats? Did you see the father of these soon-to-be kittens? What did they look like?

Do you know much at all about this "breeder", obviously they wouldn't be a registered breeder, any registered breeder would know better than do let a 5 year old pregnant cat go to a new home, let alone the fact of her age. I.e is the "breeder" well known in your local vicinity, if so you may be able to ask around a little and find out a bit more. It is irresponsible and concerns me greatly. Believe me I know the situation you are in and that it is not your fault but the person who is "breeding". I fully suspect that it wasn't a planned breeding at all and that the female got out without being spayed and a local tom cat had his wicked way with her. Then once the owners realised...they wanted rid as too much responsibility for them (even though the responsible thing would have been to get her spayed).

Makes me incredibly sad and concerned. I would not take the "breeders" word for it that your cat has any bengal at all in her. In fact, quite the opposite as the others have mentioned. She doesn't look like she has any bengal in her.

The way a kitten is going to turn out is always a surprise, you can get some indication on seeing the mother and father, but as you haven't see the father, it is impossible to know.

I hope she is doing well, just keep her comfortable, make her feel secure and unthreatened.

Looks likes a simple moggy to me, I hope your gran didn't pay out much at all, if so, it looks like you've be duped.
