Any tips for determining if a certain Bengal is a good one?

That is great you are very lucky! I knew that once I saw she was friends with Amatra that you were going to get a deal of a lifetime! I am so excited for you! Can't wait to see pictures!!! Might I add HA HA to everyone who doubted you could get a healthy screened Bengal for 500 and hey she did better! She paid 400 for a BEAUTIFUL bengal ! There is no doubt that he will be a great companion and probably the center of your life as my bengal demands that ! Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your right it is great advice and it is something that needs to be investigated if the price is cheap HUGE RED FLAGS should go up, but it doesnt always have to be that way , there are still good people out there that is not going to screw you over but not many I have to admit. I plan to start breeding within the year and I am not going to ask over 1000 for my kittens unless they are for show or breeding! I think that it is good that some people can still have faith that good people are here. I will be breeding as a hobby so if I break even Ill be happy , not looking to make a profit! But I agree with you that you should be weiry of cheap prices because 9 of 10 something is not right! No argument there and Im not saying that you should buy a cheap cat or expensive, as long as the kitten is healthy and the buyer is satisfied it doesnt really matter what the price is! I am just glad that she got a beautiful healthy kitten and a great deal, and to laugh as in being happy to all who doubted it to be possible! reality it is!

If a breeder does things right, even pricing at 1000 doesn't usually make a profit. That's why it's sketchy. It's one thing to lose some money and another thing to lose A LOT of money.

If I didn't personally know my breeder so well I would be worried about this other breeder's intentions , too. Breeders who truly love their kittens are more concerned with finding good homes for them than losing money.

I hope the OP doesn't mind that I've used her picture for my desktop wallpaper. I am so in love with this kitten. He is so typey with that great head, muscular body, thick tail, and I love those inky spots!

Sorry it took so long for pictures, I had a very busy weekend. These were all taken with my phone camera, but I will use my dslr this week.

He was nervous in the car at first but after about 30 minutes I stopped for lunch and petted him some more and he spent the rest of the 4 hour drive asleep in my lap.

He is really sweet and nice and loving. He already has no problems with a harness and everyone at works loves how he looks and how friendly he is.

Wow, he is GORGEOUS! And what a big boy he is. I am so in love with his adorable wild looking face, what a great new companion you have there. So glad that everything's turning out well and he's a sweetheart. Just wonderful news.

WOW he is even more beautiful then what I thought! I LOVE his face and ears for him to be an SBT he really captures the look of an ALC or an EG bengal! I love him, and so happy to hear he is adjusting well. His markings are also outstanding , you have your self a beautiful boy ! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I just can not get over the fact that he is an SBT he truly looks like an EG he is so beautiful you REALLY got lucky! He is simply stunning!!!! Those eyes and ears are so pretty and the markings on his face are to die for . Love him!!!
