Well, a sad update.
When this liitle lovely kitty was taken in for his first full check at 7 weeks, the vet found through exam and xrays that one of his lungs was quite full of fluid. Though the kitten is extremely active and large in size, the vet was concerned that perhaps it was a congential defect. Or perhaps a pneumonia.
The breeder did the recommended two weeks of antibitoics, and after, he was rechecked. Still with the rattle in his lung and the xrays showed still fluid. A little improvement from before, but still there.
The breeder feels baffled, as this kitten is the most active of the litter, is growing to be the largest, eats like a horse. Not really symptoms of a sick kitty.
However, she does not feel right to sell us a kitten that may or may not have continuing health issues
Funny thing about this kitten too, he has developed a long cowlick, along his spine, and so always looks spikey lol
In the meantime, another queen of hers birthed a litter with a silver boy, and the breeder has offered him to us in place of our first kitten. While our first baby is on another longer round of antibiotics, we are trying to shift our focus to the new baby, in the case that the vet does not give our first baby the thumbs up when he is rechecked in a few weeks.
The 2nd baby is lovely looking, though does not have the stunning rosettes of his new little...half brother (same father). Ah well, still a cutie pie.
In the meantime, our 4 1/2 month old bengal is doing well, though really needing a playmate I think, as he gets super frisky and play attacks us sometimes during the day. That's a whole other topic... lol
