The liquid Ronidazole is very bitter tasting and is notoriously hard to get down cats so i feel for you. It is not available in that form in the UK. It is easier to calculate the dose for cats but that is the only advantage over having the capsules made up for the individual cat.

Neurological signs to look out for when giving Ronidazole are really things like lack of co-ordination, falling over, bumping into things, misjudging jumping etc.... The best way to watch for this is to play with your kitten with the same toy for the same time each day and compare their reactions.

You seem to have an 'OK' vet there who was fairly spot on with his diagnosis very quickly.

With regards to the breeder, he had to have it at hers and so all of her cats muct have it. She will need to treat all of her cats. Do you know if she is aware of this?????

Well I told her that and that her cats could even not show signs of it and they should be tested to prevent breeding even more with the problems. She said she'd keep an eye out for it but didnt think they had it. My vet said its almost impossible for them to not have it, which i told her but again not much else i can do at this point.

No, not your fault!

She is foolish really and quite irresponsible of her.

i told her i want her to reimburse me for the vet bill but she keeps sayin to just return the cat...i told her if i return him then shes going to have to pay a whole new vet bill anyways....or god knows what else will happen to him. i think its her responsibility to pay for this bill, as a breeder with a "gaurantee." im seriously considering taking her to small claims court...not nec for the money because court fees will eat up half what she owes me but to make a point. u can not stand by your word.

Good on you for persisting with her. She probably think she'll just get away with it. Grrr. I can't believe she thinks none of her other cats would have TF. What an ignoramus.

Personally I also had to "take a chance" with my baby as there were none for sale in Eastern Canada so I had her flown in from Ontario. I ran into SO many scams before I found a breeder that I felt I could trust and it was still touch and go. I had done research for about three months on breeders, etc.- fed his email address into google and so on. I am thrilled with my transaction and my kitten. I still worry. If I were you des/ I would ask for dollars for your trouble. I do not believe he is the age they quoted when you got him. I did not want ours until 12 weeks and she was a couple of days short when we got her. I have bred siamese in the past and let them go between 10 and 12 weeks due to them starting to bond with us. They are smaller boned I think then a Bengal? something I have wanted to research and keep forgetting. Des- I know like yourself I would have been so excited about her I probably would have gone ahead and gotten him too... It is hard once you get your heart set on something like a furbaby to change your mind after. Once I started the process of treatment I am not sure I could let him go back if he is responding well and you are able to regulate his bowel movements.

hey everyone! I jsut wanted to send over an update on our little buddy... he has officially been cleared of the tritrichomonas foetus & is doing wonderfully - after many vet bills, trying lots of different foods and just lots of love! he is the best kitty with the best personality. today i got him his first walking jacket and he is doing so well with it (alot better than my other cat - shes not a bengal jsut a domestic shorthair - who hates the harness and just lays there like shes dead lol).

ANyways, when i first got jackson he was very underweight, im now happy to announce he is not only right on target but about .5lb over his goal weight for his age! He is growing fast!!!! And plays lots! Im so glad i kept him and saved him from who knows what kind of future!

him and our 40 lb german shorhair dog are BEST friends! the wrestle as if they were 2 large dogs! lol

Such a cute little baby he is! I'm so glad he's doing better.

My wife and I purchased two bengal kittens from Mindy a year ago and have had no health issues whatsoever, would highly recommend her to anyone for bengal babies. Our two kittens are extremely social, healthy and beautiful.

To correct a misconception with these posts - Mindy advertises on eBay free classifieds - many breeders do. Its NOT the same eBay where you bid on items. Pet sales are not allowed on the regular eBay.

We met Mindy at her beautiful home and she's clean, honest and obviously loves her cats and kittens.

Mindy willingly provided references of other follks who had purchased kittens from her and they all agreed that she's a responsible breeder. We checked her out very carefully and assume other pet buyers are careful too.

At any rate.. we are happy with Mindy Richards and would highly recommend her to anyone.
