Hi
this is my first post & I wish it were for better reasons, but I'm hoping someone can offer advice/info on the following situation on my Parents behalf - I should explain that I don't live close to them, but I'm worried on 2 counts -
1.The welfare of a Bengal youngster my Parents bought & were forced to return to
xxxxxxxxxxx - the Southport (Merseyside UK ) Breeder that they bought her from, as she was not at all as they were told, she was wild & vicious & has attacked them both & injured quite badly, she also kept on soiling on the bed, she also attacked & saw off there other very large Bengal boy.
My parents are experienced Bengal owners, so knew what to expect with the temperament etc, but they describe what was sold to them as as a silver spot 6 month old Kitten as "like a wild thing"
Several things they have told me rang alarm bells, for example that the Cat was still recovering from being spayed, still had stitches when the breeder allowed them to take her - my Dad can be a bit naive at times & took this to be because the Breeder knew they had plenty of experience with cats, so trusted them to take care of her - but surely any good breeder would wait until she was fully healed???
I'm also concerned that the Cat may actually be in pain/distress & hence its behaviour - my Dad found blood in its stools left on the bed & asked the Breeder to organise her seeing a Vet, the Breeder insisted this was normal - & that she would pop by in a few days to remove the Catsstiches - none of this sounds right to me??
My Mum & Dad eventually after lots of wrangling managed to get the breeder to come & take the Cat back - they couldn't even pick it up to get it in the cat box - my Dads arm is badly ripped from trying to stroke her & get her in a box earlier.
My Mum & Dad are deeply upset as they have never given up on a cat before & they are also worried about the poor thing.
2. to add insult to injury - the Breeder has not yet returned their money - insisting she couldn't get it on a Sunday when she picked up - telling them to ring & she'd get it today - on ringing they were told - I cant get out to the bank & will ring YOU when I have it
So, they have no Bengal & no refund & are left worrying as to whether this Breeder really does have the Cats best interests at heart & if the Cat is ill
I'm considering ringing the RSPCA, but genuinely don't know if my Mum & Dad have just been unlucky & they will get their money back in a day or so & the Cat will get proper attention back at the cattery:?:
Does anyone here know of this breeder please??
Thank You
