Hello , I'm new around here.
I'm hoping for some suggestions from seasoned Bengal owners. My family will be bringing home a male bengal kitten 14wks old within the next few days, We already have another Male kitten (non-bengal) in our home. The Breeder has told me that as long as proper introductions are made they should become fast friends. Aside from keeping him isolated for a week or so , what other steps can I take for the transition to go as smooth as possible. ? How should their 1st initial meeting take place.? Any suggestions will be great to hear. Thanks in advance..

a kitten should be easier to introduce to a resident cat than introducing an adult cat, Tigger took 3 days to get used to Nala and now they're inseparable. having said that, your non-bengal will need to have his time to be reassured that he's not being replaced and that he's got a new playmate in the house! here are a couple of websites which might be helpful

It really depends on the age of the resident kitten. For the new bengal, his biggest concern is just getting his footing in the new home, and fitting in. So you want to let him have a quiet, low-traffic, safe place to spend time where he can hide and not feel threatened until he is feeling confident enough to explore.

The resident kitten will potentially be more worried about being invaded by the newcomer, and betrayed by you. If it's a kitten of pretty similar age, then as soon as the bengal is over the "hiding" stage, I'd put them together and see how it goes. If the resident kitten is considerably older (like 4-5 months or more) than you might need to go slower if there are any signs of hostility. Short visits, reassurance that he's still got his place in the home, treats when they are together, scent swapping etc.
