I wasn't sure where to post this, so sorry if this is the wrong area.

We got our first bengal at the beginning of April as a retired breeder. When she arrived, she came with a copy of her registration (just scanned and printed out) and her contract. The seller told us to sign the contract, mail it to her, she would sign it and then mail it back to us after she signed. So, we signed it and sent it off the day after we got Geisha. We never got the contract back. I emailed her the beginning of June and politely asked about getting the contract and how to get her registered in our name. She was really rude and told us that she hadn't even registered Geisha's last litter yet so she couldn't transfer her into our name. She didn't say anything about the contract. Geisha's last litter must have been at least 8 months ago, I know it doesn't take that long to register a litter. Now, she will not answer our phone calls or emails even though I have been nothing but polite and courteous. What do we do? I saw somewhere on the TICA website about "Claiming" a cat online. Do I do this? I paid for her and now she won't even talk to us. She has a website and is a registered cattery. Any ideas? Is 3 months too soon to be complaining? Thanks!

Put a complaint in to the registering body (e.g. Tica)

Does anyone else think it is too soon to start complaining? Or has it been long enough?

WOW! I have been so nice to her. All my emails and phone calls have gone unanswered. I was nice in every single email and just asked for updates to see what's up. Is she correct that since I bought a cheap cat, I do not get to register the cat in my name? I am so mad, Geisha is like my child and I spoil her absolutely rotten. She better not go tell other breeders to stay away from me because I finally sent one slightly rude email after she ignored my phone calls and emails for MONTHS! Only when I threatened with a complaint did she email back. AND, yes I do get her registration papers because she told me over the phone and in email that I would. That's a verbal and a written contract, lady.

I do not owe you the reg papers as you only bought her for very cheap.... know where in the contract does it state you get your registration papers with a retired adult. I will send them as soon as possible, please do not contact me again after that. You could have called me and reminded me, instead of emailing... I did not see that email???? To say your going to complain to tica.. yeah go ahead and listen to thes other breeders ... I forgot they are soo soo honest and good haha.... I am more honest or ethical than half of them. I am very dissapointed on how you handled this and wish I had sold my sweet Geisha to someone else now.....
