The back lawn was under a nice blanket of powdered snow this morning in the 18 degree F chill. Bailey was swatting his ping pong ball around and swatting the snow, racing on the snow, doing his 180 degree turns. You can see the swatted ping pong ball on the right . With the snow flying, he "accidently" got some on his sister Kayley and she was not pleased.

When he had to dig the ball out of a rut, Kayley leaped on his tail, causing him to do a somersault in the snow. Of course, she ran into the house to pretend to be innocent. Bailey continued his play for another 15 minutes before he was tired and cold.

I don't see a picture, but how does one find a white ping pong ball in white snow? Must be the fact that Bailey is much closer to the ground than human eyes. Sounds like fun playing in the snow. My Raiden isn't crazy about the white stuff or the cold temperatures. 32 degrees on our morning walk and he lasted about 7 minutes outside.

Here is Bailey swatting the ping pong ball on his right:

Well, they are very hard to find in the powder. He did swat a couple out of the lawn area.

At 15 degrees, Bailey was good for 95 minutes outside and he came charging in to raid his plate of chicken and then rush to the fireplace to warm up. Then, he charged out again for more play in the snow. Kayley joined Spanky in guarding the fireplace in their respective cat sofas...

Aww, how cute with Bailey in the snow. Lots of footprints. Listen, you can KEEP the snow, thank you. So far we have only had some light dustings that didn't stick around long. Raiden does not like to go out and play in it and acts like he has "dainty paws" just stepping in it.

Three inches of fresh powder was on the back lawn this morning and while Bailey played ping pong, raced around with his tail curved, Kayley was watching and again was "accidently" splattered by snow that Bailey had slapped. While he was looking into the rough for a buried ping pong ball, Kayley charged at him and by the time that their chase was over, the ball was lost. After 20 minutes, 4 ping pong balls were missing. Bailey loves breaking up a pristine landscape of powdered snow!

He required 40 minutes of grooming after coming in with a snow stripe on his back and Kayley was in the same condition, though her grooming period near the fireplace was 20 minutes.

Usually, it is cold out when it snows. Raiden is a little wimpy when it comes to the cold. He doesn't like to be out long in it. Today it's raining and while he doesn't mind getting wet, it's cold out and I don't want him getting sick. My DSH loves the snow, rolls around in it, thinks it's fun to run in it. He's got a thick winter coat and loves the rain. I find that the DSH and bengals are two different species of cats.
