Kayley is one year old and appointed herself chief medical officer since at least 3 times per week she checks her brother Bailey and their 19 year old Uncle Spanky for rigor mortis. Her checks include: a) licking their inside ear hairs, b) licking the fur between their paw pads or c) biting their tails.

Uncle Spanky taught them to drink from the faucet in the guest room and he leads the procession to the faucet with Bailey usually following and Kayley bringing up the rear. However, at the faucet, she cuts in line and drinks first with Bailey cat-plaining by going OHREEE and Spanky going WRHANNNA. To no avail as cutting in line is one of her many perks of being an Amazon!

That's really sweet. My Serafina is a napoleon cat, so periodically her much more laid-back sister, Gaga, walks up to her and licks her right on the forehead as a peace offering.

Serafina will be like....
"Hey! You're in my space! OMG I don't want you here! What do you think you're DOING here?"
*lick*
"Ah, oh alright, carry on".

I don't know ... seems like you need some military interference here! You should be in charge -- but as we all know, when it comes to a bengal, there is no way for you to be in charge. Thank you for sharing such a cute story with us. You go Kayley!!!

When the starz went to see the vet for their first year shots, I explained why Kayley was the chief medical officer and he was soon having belly laughs. Yesterday, Kayley checked on the napping Uncle Spanky on his cat sofa 5 time and used a different technique each time: 1) licked the inside ear hairs; 2) rubbed her chin on his head; 3) tapped his tummy with her left front paw; 4) bit the tip of his tail and 5) licked the fir between the rear left paw pads. Spanky knows Bengal females do what they want, when they want, so he only moved enough to satisfy her that he was not hybernating!

Now if Kayley could only give shots and medications. LOL

Spanky, the 19 year old Bengal, either had chicken caught in his teeth or had a tooth loosened this evening. He had loud screeching WRHANNAs and was in spasms rubbing his right cheek on the tiles. Kayley came running when she saw him and when he raised his head off of the tiles, she paw slapped the right side of his jaw 5 times in rapid succession. End of pain and Spanky went over for his afternoon nap. Two hours later, he woofed down more chicken with no pain or problems and i can report that his dish is "rinse water ready."

Maybe it was the shock of the slaps that did the trick but Kayley is now the family dentist! An Amazoning performance by her!

I love it!

Continuing her application of practical cures to health problems, Kayley was on the bed last night with Bailey and yours truly when we heard what sounded like a leaking teapot. Bailey's snoring makes those wonderful sounds, However, Kayley would have none of it and rubbed her left front paw over the top of Bailey's head and that ended his snores.

Ha ha ha. That is so cute. My DSH snores really loud but Raiden never gets close enough to him while Legs is sleeping to stop him.
