Hello, I have a 9 year old Bengal male that I take for walks. I have only been walking him for about 7 months. I generally walk him once a day, sometimes twice. The last 2 days, while walking, with no dogs or other cats or even people around, he has started to display unusual behaviour. He will stop, his tail will bristle out as if he is excited, he will meow excitedly and will attack my leg. When I have bent to let him smell me and to speak reassuringly to him, he has bit me. I will continue walking with him and eventually he calms and walks normally. Any advice?

Welcome to the forum. I honestly am not sure why your cat would attack you while you are walking him. Most cats are totally distracted by other smells and things to look at. If this were my cat, I would probably stop the walks for a couple of days and then see the behavior continues when you start the walks back up again. Is this the ONLY time you cat attacks you? There may be something outside that is messing with him. Something he can smell that you can't.

He could be smelling another cat, maybe one that sprayed in that area and is redirecting the aggression at you since you are the only thing near him. It also could just be he is over-excited about everything going on around him.
