What I see a lot between my two bengals, is that it's definitely a social thing. The typical pattern is that Serafina or Gaga will be snoozing somewhere, or about to settle down, and then the other one will appear. There will be a tense moment while they decide whether the other one's presence is accepted or whether they want to be alone, and if no growling or hissing or paw swatting happens (usually Serafina throwing a tantrum), usually Gaga will make the "peace gesture" by licking her sister a couple of times on the face, then all is good. It's kind of like she's saying "Chill sis, everything is cool".

Bryan will give me a little lick on occasion. Especially if I've been away for a day or two and he's only had my other half for company. Max and Bryan also give each other a couple of licks when they're settling down for a nap together too. Very cute.

Raiden never licks me. He doesn't lick our other cat either. He licks the hubby after he gives Raiden a nice massage. My other moggie licks me to death, but he and Raiden simply do not get that close to each other for grooming. They have come a long way in the couple of years I've had both cats, but they still have a long way to go before they are snuggling together. Raiden sleeps on his bed in the living room and Long Legs sleeps on his bed in the dining room.

Morgana has this thing of licking me, the shower screen, walls, the odd window..... She seems to judge if things are good or not on the texture or taste..lol. And OMG! She has the longest tongue I have ever seen in a cat! She can almost flick her paws without bending down!!!
