Right, as I have said before, my little kitten is a right naughty little sod. Bitting, chewing etc, typical young kitten behaviour. Chewing has almost been knocked on the head with teething chews and rings all the rest i can deal with.
But......
what I witnessed last night, can only be described as ....................shocking from a 4 month old!!:shock:

Hemi, the big neutered male, laying on the floor minding his own, little Levy, 4 months old, comes along, Looks at Hemi as much to say, 'your gonna get it' and with no more then a flinch, he had mounted Hemi.!
Proper grabbing him at the back of the neck, straddled him, on done his 'dirty deed' on him. Literally.!! Now, he has done this before, but nothing as bad as this., by time I had got of the sofa, Hemi looked as though he had been violated!
After having words with Levy, I put him on the floor, and straight away he went for Hemi again, this time leaving 'something'moist on him!

Now I know this is probably normal,. But what i am worried about, is if he gets too frisky, one of the other males might attack him. I know the normal age for being neutered is 6 months, but could I get him done early, purely because of his dominant behaviour?
Any advice greatly received.

I would talk to your vet re early neutering..
i think its down to what vet you have and what age they prefer to do the op..
I got my boy 'done' at 15 wks, he was perfectly fine after the op, and is growing nicely. He came second in his open class in a champ show last week so you can be sure it doesnt stunt their growth by getting them done early..
Infact I personally think its better ( they dont have a chance to start the spraying habit!)
He is now 6months old and a big soppy lump...
twice as big as his sister..

I have heard about getting them done early, but not that many cases. I waited till both mine were 6 months old.
15 weeks you had yours done, so sounds promising for Levy.
He is a cheeky sod, your not wrong, I have asked before though, is it normal for kittens to do this sort of thing so early?
I've even hid my fluffy slippers through fears of finding them 'damp'!!

they can hit sexual maturity from 4 months. we would prefer them to be babies for longer, but it happens. girls can also start calling from 4 months onwards.

as for early neutering, i'm all for it. more vets are warming to the idea & rescue centres have been doing it for ages. in australia & canada it has been commom practise for many years but a lot of our old school vets here are a bit set in their ways.

it's worth phoning round a few veterinary practices to find one who will. all the concerns about growth & development have been proven unfounded. the only concern is the levels of anaesthesia on young cats. there are good articles to be found on the subject, one being on the feline advisory bureau website. even the GCCF now send out leaflets to breeders regarding early neutering & i am considering having pet quality kittens neutered before going to their new homes in future, to help prevent the back-yard-breeder scenarios.

I had William 'done' at 15 weeks, i phoned my vets beforehand - they were fine with him being taken in early and said they'd check him first, if he wasn't ready i could just bring him home and wait until he was, but as it happened, he was ready.

The vet here said they usually perform the op at 6 months of age, but they will neuter early if the cat is ready and showing signs of sexually mature/boisterous behaviour...and boy, it sounds like Levy is ready alright!

He is going in Friday to see if he would be ok to be done early, It is a shame, but since the first happening, it is almost 5 times a day now, poor Hemi he'll be fed up by then lol

lol i'm glad the vets have agreed to see if he's ready. i'm sure they'll agree it's time lol. hopefully hemi will be happier after too

Well today was D day, and it went well.

Picked Levy up at 5pm, and the vets said that they had fell in love with him. Loved him. Cuddled him, never seen one like him before, so he drew a fair bit of attention

Got him home, let him out of his box, and he has been non stop since then, and i mean NON STOP.!!!! playing, eating, up and down the stairs, beating Hemi and Harley up, he has not stopped, and it is almost 10 pm.

One good thing, he will sleep well tonight. All in all it went swimmingly well, and he is a fine young man!

Glad it went well =) Hope the questionable behaviour is much improved
