My boys seem to have a habit of leaving a right mess around thier food bowls they look like they have dived into it!



I am wondering whether a dogs bowl would be more suitable to give them more room.

What sort of bowls do you use to provide your Bengal with food?

It does look like the rim of your bowls isn't very deep? They're very cute though I'd use them for wet food, the dry is probably a bit slide-y on the glazed ceramic? (just guessing)

I'm using these stainless steel bowls (small size). http://www.pet-supermarket.co.uk/erol.html#8609X27626 They're nice and deep.

I also have their bowls set on a tray, this one from IKEA http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/40041131 it's plenty big for 2 bowls and the rim keeps the mess contained.

Mikesch picks bites of canned food out of his bowl and places them on the floor before the bowl before eating them. Sometimes he leaves leftovers on the floor. So naturally, the feeding area is constantly messy. He's the only one of my four doing this right now, but when I was a teenager we had a cat who would do exactly the same thing with his canned food.

As for food bowls, I have several small, shallow ones and sometimes even use breakfast plates for the canned. Mine seem to dislike deep dishes for food. It's as if they dislike bowls where their whiskers can touch the sides or their necks end up resting on the rim while eating. The deep bowls I bought all ended up as water bowls. They love them for drowning toys in them. For water, my cats seem to prefer the largest bowls available, so that's where I'm using large doggy bowls.

I use deep stainless steel doggy bowls for food and water, and shallow bowls/plates for wet food

I have stainless steel bowls.. one for water, one for dry fud & one for meat and so far have had no problems..
I alternate them each day so I can put one set in the dishwasher while they are using the others..

i use the stainless steel ones for all food, & the solid doggy size pottery ones for water. all are placed on dinner trays to catch the mess.

Shelleys like that but I decided to get a funky lap tray & place her bowls in there, it tends to work most of the time!
