Hi all, this is my first visit here and my first post so i apoligise in advance if i have posted this in the wrong place.

Im after a bit of advice realy as have tried everything i can think of to combat the weeing and pooing on the floor and yet they still do it.

I have got 2 bengal queens, sisters, both about 6 months old. one of them i have not seen going toilet outside of the litter tray but the other has on many occasions.

Im takin it that it is the same one that wees and poos all around the house but as have not seen it every time i dont know for sure.

They have weed and pooed right next to her food bowel, just out side the litter tray, on the mat at the front of the litter tray, under a table in a bed room, behind a bedroom door. They have also weed in carrybags, on papers and under my bed in a wicker basket filled with books and other such items! (i was not happy with this one because a lot of things had to be discarded) Its hard to believe from the list above but they do use there litter trays as well!

I have got 4 average sized litter trays (2 up and 2 down. 1 is covered and the rest are not) and tried a couple of different litters to see if that was the problem. the litters i have tried are Worlds Best Cat Litter and Pets at home scented clumping cat litter (the one in a plastic bottle like container)

Luckaly we have laminate flooring all down stairs and so clean up is not to much of a problem. i regualary use trigene to disenfect and clean the floor.

Has anyone else had any problems like these? i have had a quick look throught the forum and it does look like i have got it lucky as they have not wees in my sink or bed yet thank god!

Has anyone tried catsan? (not sure how its spelled but as you can proberly guess im not to hot on spelling anyhow) im thinking of trying that next, either the sensertive one or maybe the odercontrol.

I feed my girls on hills science, both dried and wet food. they do have the runs most of the time as well, but some times it is solid.

I hope somone has a solution for me as i am pulling my hair out!

First : does she did this from the start, or did it begin later ?
Also, do you use hypochlorite for cleaning ? (not sure what trigene is)
Did you take her to the vet ?
Does she seem "uncomfortable", stressed or anything ?

Weeing and pooing problems may have a variety of causes... if she only weed I'd say she may have urinary infection, but as she also poos...

It may be that she isn't at ease. Did you try Feliway ?

If you could please describe her behavior appart from this problem, it may help...

it started of that she would wee on paper, in baskets ect but never wee on the floor and deffently not poo.

i wouldnt say shes stressed or uncomftiable at all, shes always playing, sunbathing ect ect... she follows me everywhere (i dont work so am at home all day - she dont just do it when im out) shes eating and drinking fine. To look at here i would say she is very relaxed and comfertable with no visable signs of any problems.

Trigene is a high level surface disinfectant for all animal enviromental areas including walls, floors, carpets, stainless steel, fabrics and pet habitats. it does include polymeric biguanide hydrochloride <10%. more can be found at www.medichem.co.uk

i have not taken her to her vets as i thought it was just a "habbit" or could it be the signes of a more serious problem?

whats Feliway?

As she started out peeing you should have a health check at the vet to be sure she doesn't have any health problems ; also, he may have some ideas about her comportemental issue.

The problem with hypochlorite is that the odor will attract cats to pee on it ! Maybe you should try another cleaning product, and try cleaning your floor once with white vinegar (which has the opposite effect).

Feliway is cats facial pheromones which may help with behavior issues (that's what the cat put on things when rubbing their chin against them). You can buy it at the vet.

thanks for your advice, ill see about geting a vets appointment next week for her.

i dont think its a problem with hypochlorite tho as i have never used this on the carpet upstairs. just to be safe tho i will try the white vinegar.

is there any chance it could be as simple as they dont like the cat litter or am i going down the wrong path there?

My guy was a real problem at first too! After ruling out a medical problem I ended up trying every kind of litter on the market and, of course, he decided he liked the most expensive one...Worlds Best Cat Litter. I must admit, it does work great.

I agree too that it is vital to disinfect a soiled area. I used Natures Miracle which has natural enzymes that break down the poo and/or pee smell. The steps I would recommend would be to first rule out a medical problem and if all is ok, go forward with a lot of patience and a lot of trial and error. It’ll all work out.
