We have always had live trees. We don't use tinsel or leave any danglies on low-hanging branches. Most years, we have had model trains which circle under the tree.

The only time Quasar ever tried to climb the tree was 3 years ago. My mum was visiting and put a cat teaser up into the tree on Christmas eve. Christmas morning, the tree was slightly tilted. I found out why when mum told us to look into the tree for "something for Quasar".

There have certainly been problems with tree-climbing Bengals, and I'm sure you will get some of those responses. The pictures I see are always artificial trees, however. I wonder if the prickliness of the trunk and denseness of the limbs of a real tree are deterrents.

Good luck! You'll have to post some pictures.

For a couple of years, I got genuine xmas trees, but with no decorations. Just put the tree in a stand in water, and put it in my living room. It was nice! Nice smell, the cats enjoyed hanging out under the tree, pawing at it, running around it etc. It was a good compromise.

Looks like it's not allowing files to be uploaded. Just Google and you will find many solutions, including caging your Christmas tree, hanging it from the ceiling, just put up a tall stick with a couple of ornaments high up. And you will also see cute kitties IN the Christmas tree.

You know how cats are so curious about everything. But, maybe after one sniff and look, everything is fine. The presents may be another thing. Ribbon is dangerous if a cat ingests it. Icicles on the tree are a no-no. And they may find the wrapping paper fascinating. I never had any issues with cats in general, but my bengal has never seen a Christmas tree.
