Our bengal is a messy eater and drinker.
Whatever is on his plate: dry or wet food, he pushes it on the floor with his paw, then eats off the floor or off his carpet where we sometimes put his bowl. Then, he has greasy paws and walks all over our home, leaving messy marks on the laminate floors.
He also does this with water, playing with it before drinking...tracking water in the home!
We have tried everything we can think off:
- bowl with higher rim
- cup
- very large plate....
This beauty was rescued off the street several years ago. We don't know if that is a habit he picked up or if he has always done that, maybe as a form of play.
We would welcome any tips you have!

My observation is that I think foods that are kind of "tough", cats tend to place on the floor, so that they can "pull it apart". Foods that are more soupy or tender, will stay in the dish more often. Consider trying to eat something like a meat loaf on a plate without using your hands, and I think you can probably appreciate the problem.

That said though, I never plan meals based on how much I think is going on the floor, that's not even really a consideration, I just want them to eat things that they like and will keep the healthy. Instead I use little mats made for this purpose (at any pet store), so that to the extent food goes on the ground, the majority goes on the mats instead of the carpet.

Gosh, that's a long link. LOL. Other online places sell it as well. I have one and the food and water stay in the feeder. They have several options and dish sizes. I also use ceramic dishes for food and Raiden, my bengal, will push the food out. If I see him, I just turn the bowl 180 degrees and that usually solves the problem.

I don't know how many options they would sell there. Their products for cats are smaller than what they sell for dogs. Their bowls are stainless steel. If you prefer ceramic, you may find one that fits. I currently have dry food in a ceramic bowl in the neater feeder.

Actually Neater Feeders can be found just about everywhere but they may not carry all of the various products and bowls. Hope you can find the solution.
