A good leather mousie toy is usually appreciated, and might even get carried around instead of torn up.

Also buy extra sisal rope from the hardware store for re-wrapping the scratch pole.

The main item for us is the cat wheel - they both love it (which means i love it too) and it wears them out sufficiently

i have gotten a Nerf gun and a bunch of extra foam darts. Sometimes Oberon and the other cats are in the mood to chase them and sometimes not. It is a great way for me to be lazy when playing, except when it is time to pick them all up.

Sherry - That is unusual that Raiden doesn't go gaga for fishing toys. Oberon just goes nuts when I pick up one of the fishing toys. He doesn't seem to play-growl and run away with them as much anymore, but his eyes literally sparkle when it is play time.

I think he sometimes steals the fishing toys out of the toy basket when I am not looking. It occurs to me that he never really self-entertained much before, and I see him doing that more these days. It is almost as though he is still learning how to play.

Raiden was an outdoor bengal for his first six years and I don't think his owner ever played with him. He loves chasing the wand end of the toy if you swish it around and he will chase the Cat Dancer, but that is about it. He does enjoy catching mice and chipmunks that somehow find their way into his enclosure. He was nibbling on a little mouse in the middle of the night last night -- a real one, not fake. We've chased live chipmunks around our house until we catch and release them and the other day, both cats were under the dining room table admiring a dead chipmunk that one of them had brought in. Those are MY adventures.
