Hello all just seeing if anyone has ever used that 50 dollar brush I believe it's called "the furminator" it claims to reduce shedding by 90 % or some crap like that.

Anyone ever use it on a BENGAL???? IF so is it good?? better than a 5 dollar brush??

I was told by breeder that Bengal's were not big shedder's well Saevus and Nahla SHED with a capital S.

I have one very similar to one of these, i find it brilliant it gets out the undercoat of the cat when it does shed.

I can get at least a handful of fur out when i do my boy as he sheds more than my girl but I only do it now and again.

I would recommend these but don't comb too hard as they have delicate skin, my boy enjoys being combed.

Bengals, on average, do not shed much, but it is going to depend on where you live and whether your bengal is allowed outdoors. A bengal living in Alaska and goes out in the winter time is going to have a thicker winter coat to keep it warm. My bengal sheds VERY little. I have a domestic cat that sheds a ton and I have to brush him daily so he doesn't ingest the fur. Whatever option you go with is a one-time investment.

They are very good for moulting times, it's the only time we use ours, but it gets all the older coat out leaving the newer coat. You'd be surprised just how much comes off our four over a week or two, it's actually quite a lot and you don't realise just how dense a Bengals pelt is until you 'furminate' them when they're shedding their cat for the season.

If you can find a cheaper alternative that does the same job, go for it, but don't be surprised if it doesn't get as much of the old coat out, as easily.

They are totally worth it for my boys. They shed like CRAZY. I got more than a mixing bowl of fur off the two of them. Max more than Faust, but both were just tired of being brushed, not actually done with getting the loose hair off. Definitely helps reduce the tumbletangles of cat fur rolling across the hardwood floors.
