I've just been contacted by a couple that bought a lovely blue boy from me back in October 2008. His name is Willow. They've just discovered that they've having a baby so unfortunately Willow has to go

I've added a pic that she sent me of him with his best friend.

If anyone's interested perhaps they can PM me. He's near Bournemouth in Hampshire.

Aww how sad - he looks so sweet cuddled up with his friend. Seems a shame they can't have the baby and keep the cats.

Honestly... I don't get it.. I come across it all the time but I don't get it.. why does a baby mean the cat has to go and if it does why get the cat if kids are in your future?

Oh he's gorgeous, what's happening with their siamese, his best friend there?

Such a shame, i am at a bit of a loss to understand why pregnancy = get rid of cat?? most friends i know with cats have babies too??
Unless the Bengal is aggressive??

Well I suppose so. It is just rather common, and more often that not based on the misconception that cats smother baby's.....Mind you, am I going to be the one to argue logic with a pregnant woman? Not on your nellie As you say, they have come to you to have the lad re-homed and I could well be doing them a disservice. So I wish them well with the new baby, and you with the re-homing

We have actually had cases here of Doctor's telling the Moms to be that they cannot have cats, that happened with my bosses daughter so she gave her cat to Mom. Load of rubbish. Handling used litter can be bad, maybe someone knows why.. but certainly a cat is not a problem.

Not saying that to have a go at this particular person, it is just interesting what misconceptions are still out there. You are right Knight.. that particular one keeps going the rounds too.

Willow looks a lovely boy.

We had 3 bengals.

The girl always used litter tray but we had problems with the boys spraying/marking around the house.

One boy would do it on/off all the time and the other very occasionally.

We lived with it, changed most of our flooring to hard surfaces, bought leather furniture and made sure all curtains/ fabrics out of ‘bum’ range.

All our bengals died last year – at the grand old age of 16 – and I’m missing them.

Willow looks like a combination of one of my boys and the girl.

She was a blue marble from Typhast and he was a spotted boy we bought from Esmond Gay.

But my partner is reluctant to get another boy due to urine problems.

Can anyone help me convince him that Willow would be right for us?
