It is a very heavy heart we are having to place this message.

Lucy is a female Bengal, 18 months old.

She has been neutered, full vaccinated and microchipped.

Lucy is an extremely loving cat although a bit nervous of new people to start with but give her love, attention and treats she will love you right back and be your best friend. She is intelligent, energetic and gets bored easily. She needs a lot of attention and interaction with her human companions.

She needs to be with someone who ideally has experience of Bengal breed plus the time (and energy) to spend with her.

She doesn't like being left on her own for hours so we would like her to go to a home where somebody is about for a good part of day especially until she is well settled. She enjoys activity around her and loves the sound of her own voice and will meow back whenever you talk to her. She doesn't like to be picked up all the time but will jump up onto your lap for loving cuddles and a long sleep once she is settled and trusts you.

She has spent time with another male 9 year moggie cat but only for short bits of time when we have been away. She got on Ok with him pretty quickly and for the 3 weeks she was with him she was so much better but unfortunately they can’t keep her full time.

She has not been tested with children but she loves attention so could possibly be OK if they know how this particular breed likes to be handled. She has not been around any dogs but if the dog was cat friendly it could possibly work.

Unfortunately her home situation is with inexperienced young owners who now both work full time and are out from 7am until 6.30pm and since that has started she has started to urinate where she shouldn’t and also because she is very bored we have been told. She does use her litter tray and from a kitten always has until these last few months. We have been told this could easily be sorted with correct training and may not even do it in a new home if she gets the time and attention she needs.

She has been well loved but probably too much so we have tried to keep her in an unsuitable situation so it’s not really her fault and as much as it hurts to rehome her it’s for her best interest as we want her to be happy and settled for good instead of being moved from place to place.

Also we have to move soon and cannot take her with us initially and it could be 6 months more before we do and it’s unfair to put her in a rescue centre until then and also once we do get another place she will be on her own again all day.

We now realise we are the wrong choice of home for her and so want her to get a new loving home with people who are about during the day and can give her all the attention and exercise she needs.

She is a wonderful companion who desperately needs a home where she has a free run of the house and an owner who very much wants her to be an integral part of their life.

For the next couple of weeks Lucy will be back at my Mums house with Maddi the male cat whilst we are away so we really want to find her the right new home quickly.

A donation of £100 which will be donated to Cats Protection is required to ensure new owner is genuinely committed to giving our wonderful girl the love and attention she needs.

Lucy
