We have a beautiful and sweet bengal female that really needs a new home. Her name is Tanzi and she is the sweetest cat you could ask for. She is about 9 years old and has always been in perfect health except for one urinary tract infection several years ago.
When we first got her, she destroyed quite a bit of furniture with her claws and we had her declawed rather than something worse. I know many of you are horrified about that but she has been perfectly fine and happy for years. She takes showers with us, sleeps with us and spends most of her time sitting on whoever she can pin down. Actually her favorite thing is to sit on your chest and be held like a baby while you scratch her chin and she purrs so loud you can hear her in the next room.
Anyway, she was perfectly fine for years before and after our kids were born but now the kids are getting larger and louder (three boys) and we can tell they are making her really nervous. She has taken to hiding under our bed and even peed on the kids stuffed toys a couple of times.
We also have three other cats (a Japanese bobtail, a pound cat and a stray) and they seem to just ignore the kids but Tanzi is obviously miserable. We are hoping to find her a new loving home with no kids where she can be happy.
If you are looking to lecture me about declawing, please save your time and mine because we have had cats of all kinds for years and we KNOW Tanzi has been happy and pampered her whole life. We tried everything we could think of to avoid that step but we will not pass a problem cat onto anyone else and it came down to declaw or have our baby put to sleep which we could not do. That decision was very hard and this one is even harder so please keep the lectures to yoursleves on this one. It's obvious that her problem now is that our loud kids make her very very nervous and as much as we love her, this is what we need to do so she can be happy. What we need now is help finding a good (quieter) home for a really sweet and beautiful cat. She does really well with other cats and actually was fine with the kids until they hit the running and rough and tumble phase and right now they even get on my nerves so I know how she feels. We have about a million pics of her so I will be happy to send pics to anyone interested. We are in the Chattanooga/Huntsville area so please PM me if interested.
Thanks
