Today on Instagram one of my followers posted a picture of a Caracal with her Bengal. I was shocked as I read a lot about how aggressive the Caracal are, and should never be near children, elderly or pets. I did some research and found that in 2015 a new bread is starting by cross breeding the Caracal with domestic cats, resulting to a Caracat.

This is an introduction article about the breed for those curious like me to learn about it:
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/cara ... ect-cats#/

In summary it's a huge car and has to be declawed.

But here's another article where the writer goes at length warning from the Caracat for it's too wild and aggressive even when playing.

...and I thought the Savannah Cat was difficult to handle ;)

Hmmm, quite conflicting commentaries aren't they.
I guess the people from Russia who are trying to get some crowd funding happening are putting the positive spin on it in the hope of gaining monetary support.
I'm not sure how I feel about the whole thing, but I guess we wouldn't have our beautiful Bengals if no one had done the hard yards in the beginni.

I agree Tracey... clearly it's still under development.

I checked last night YouTube, although very limited videos but found an eight weeks Caracat kitten becomes huge and heavy as a regular adult cat. And an adult Caracat gets to 30 lbs... YIKES!

I love the exotic look of it but the behavior seems to wild for normal households unless one lives in a jungle.

There are reported incidents of unintended attacks during regular plays with the Caracat proving its size and behavior is alarming around people. If humans are slaves to regular cats, we are preys to Caracats ;)

It'd be interesting to keep reading about this breed's development.

There are breeders now breeding this hybrid! Ran across one not too long ago. The Geoffroy cat hasn't really taken as it is very difficult to get the Safari Cat and a domestic cat to mate. There will always be those who attempt to breed a wild cat with a domestic cat and lay claim to a new breed. It's not always good for the cats involved!
