7 out 0f 10 times I keep getting an error (see below) and can not log onto your site.

This has been very consistent for me in the past week, too.
More often than not, I'm not able to log on.

I'm aware of the problem, it's a server issue.

We've suffered it a few times since upgrading, usually only once every couple of months, unsure what's causing it but changes have already been made to help stop it locking up processes so frequently, hopefully that'll solve it. If it continues we'll look at using a different forum software.

Once in while the occasional glitch is acceptable but it's happened twice this week. I'll be honest and say that I'm reluctant to use a different forum software due to time & cost involved in transferring, plus licence fees etc etc, but that may be the best way forward.

There will be some planned down time due to server maintenance, I'll post something in advance when I know more but I expect it will be in the early hours (GMT) so there's as little disruption as possible.

I got that this morning on my iPad as well.

wow, all weekend bandwidth issues
hopefully it's all sorted now.

Hi,

We have been experiencing some issues with spammers/bots accessing our
pages, this has resulted in a huge overload in site traffic which has
impacted on our allocated bandwidth; we do anticipate spammers/bots and
usually keep things well managed and under control, however this latest
attack was unforeseeable and massive, although no spam was posted to the
forums the surge of site traffic was enough to soak up a huge amount of
bandwidth allocation which in turn triggered the server to close down. We
had no warning of this, and as a result couldn't post an announcement to
advise members of the impending downtime.

The situation is being dealt with and the site should be up and running
again shortly, hopefully within 12 hours.

Apologies for any disruption caused.
