After our eldest bengal, Natawni, passed away in June, our boy Onyx was missing her terribly and looking for her. We decided to pick out a new companion for him and went for a 6 month old cat so we could assess personality.

It worked out beautifully and helped mend his heart. Onyx is 7 years and Akira is 1 year and they are strongly bonded. I have always been lucky to have very friendly Bengals that really seem to enjoy other cats. We had a few fosters come through before and Onyx never hisses or growls, he lays down and does the slow blink and just does not seem to know what territory is. There is room for all in his heart. Akira seems to be growing up with the same love for everyone. Our 1st bengal, Natawni was also very friendly with the fosters.

Are they learning this behavior from the adult cat being that the new cats are just kittens? Or perhaps just lucky?

Anywho, pics!

Love your pics! Fortunately I never had problems introducing a new cat to an older one. Usually the reason for adding a new cat was the older cat being lonely after a companion had passed away. The new cat was always a younger cat which makes it easier. And you need a bit of luck, some cats just don't like each other.

So good to see it all worked out so well for your two!

I think they are all browns? I am not overly familiar with colors though. I am assuming you mean Akira... She was the oddball kitten... She has a very very pale coat and dark only inky thick outlined spots. All the other kittens were reddish with large filled in rosettes. I am curious why she was the odd kitten in the group.

The one with a mask looks like a charcoal. The pelt contrast is just gorgeous in these kitties.

That's the one! Do you know if this baby is a charcoal? Many times, the mask is extremely dark, but I'm guessing your baby has some charcoal. They are gorgeous, just gorgeous kitties.

I am not sure.. When I inquired about the kittens I told the breeder I didn't care about color or spots and asked about the personalities. He told me Akira was outgoing and did not mind being held... When I visited the breeders house... Akira crawled on my lap and laid down so the choice was easy!

On her papers it says brown... When I tried to research charcoal it said any color can be charcoal though. Her nose bridge is dark brown and her nose is mostly black (pink spot in middle). She is darker down her back but her sides are very light colored. As a kitten she looked almost white. Her spots are black but some have dark brown in them.

Her siblings were more golden/red colored with huge brown rosettes. She was the odd man out but I figured she was just a different shade of brown. I will ask the breeder.

Charcoal is just a color -- not a type of bengal. If you have any papers on her or a pedigree, I would love to make sure she and her parents/grandparents are in my bengal database.

Her sire: RISNSUN FLY ME TO THE MOON SBT 042815 069
Dam: PAINTEDCATS EYE CANDY STB 030115 027

Her breeders website: https://www.paintedcats.com

It has pedigrees listed if you need more info.

I don't think she is a charcoal but I asked the breeder (holidays though). I think that is something he would have mentioned though. She is the oddball of the litter but I think she has a pronounced mask simply because she has so much contrast between the light and dark. I am not sure why her spots are so inky black but I love it. I don't know why she was born so different from her siblings.

These are the parents and the other kittens were like them.

Both of the parents are F9's, making your baby and F10. Does your girl have a pedigreed name and TICA registration number? I already had both parents in my DB with their TICA registration numbers.

I have a breeder slip but have not sent it in yet.
