I am putting a series of photos on my Instagram this week (user name Katdroidd), but this one is my favorite, and how I choose to remember Thomas the Tiger (2006-2017). He was a magnificant Bengal mix, posessing the best characteristics of a classic orange tabby and the Bengal breed. I never got to find out who his parents were, but I'm sure they were amazing as well.

Thomas did a lot in his life and time with me - he moved the the big city, vanquished the mice in my apartment, sat with me during long nights of being sick, and he helped raise a DSH kitten with neurological issues. But most importantly, he was my buddy, and I will miss him so much.

Sorry for your loss... I've lost my 2nd cat back in 2000 and I wept for long days and nights.

Although one's heart rejects the idea, but I always believe that one should replace his lost pet ASAP to overcome the grief. Try to spend sometime visiting shelters or websites for a loving cat waiting for you too.

How about a Savannah? A Toyger? Or another Bengal? These hybrids are so different yet demanding your attention enough to occupy your life.

I do not agree with the word 'replace' no beloved pet can ever be replaced.

I think you need time to grieve and then think clearly to see if you can open your broken heart up to another pet.

I think if it were just up to me it would be a long time before adopting another cat. But the other cat is still with me, and so I will be waiting to see how she feels in a few months and what she might want. When he first went into the hospital, she looked for him every day and kept meowing at me to produce him for her. But now she seems to understand the situation, however, and that is a relief.

We all deal differently with grief... you don't need to do anything if you're not ready. But I was highlighting an option for you.

In the past I never replaced a pet with another... but I was younger then. Now as I'm getting older, and maybe due to the fact that I live alone, I feel that if I were in your shoes in my own circumstances, I'd buy/adopt another pet. Be it a cat, dog, parrot... etc. I believe an animal lover is an animal lover for life.

Stay blessed dear...

Love the close up face shot of Thomas. He was definitely a man with character.
I feel your pain after losing 3 fur babies in short succession last year.
I've been thinking of you today and sending love and light.
